The Kawasaki KLR 650 has been on and off the road since 1987. Until the 2007 model, it has pretty much not changed since then. It is a dual-sport motorcycle and a long-standing model in the Kawasaki lineup.
What many find surprising is that the price is lower than those of the same class. For the adventure motorcycle culture, dual-sport kawasaki klr650 has a reputation as the “gateway drug”. What is even better is that it is strong, versatile, and reliable. The qualities that every rider is hooked with especially when it comes to adventure. This all comes at a very reasonable price, even with its upgrades!
In 2008, the bike was radically redesigned. It was a model built with a 651cc, four-stroke, dual-counter balance DOHC, water-cooled, single-cylinder engine.
There were aesthetics never before seen in their old model. Such as state of the art dual headlights, a more powerful engine, better instrument panel and redesigned handlebar control switches that gives the bike a very modern look. The doohickey, or the idler-shaft lever, and “alternator”, which was upgraded to 17amp output which gave an addition 36-watt capacity, allowed better function.
An upgraded 41mm fork and cooling system, a new D section swingarm, and dual-piston front and rear brake caliper were other modifications that were made in the second generation. The 4mm wheel spokes, with a cowling and fairing design, also came along with it.
