2017 Citroën C4 Aircross is a compact SUV of the French automobile brand Citroën. Citroën C4 Aircross 2017 is similar in design to the Mitsubishi ASX and the sister model Peugeot 4008, all three vehicles are manufactured at Mitsubishi Motors. The launch of the market in Germany took place on June 2, While the 4008 was already out of the German model range by the end of 2015, Citroën’s C4 Aircraft was discontinued in March 2017. In other countries such as Switzerland or France, both models are still offered.
2017 Citroën C4 Aircross Design
2017 Citroën C4 Aircross features a much more elaborate line, typical of the latest cars with the “double chevron” brand. Looking at the front, stands out first of all the large Citroën calendar, with the double cusp logo that extends throughout the muzzle length. On the sides of the calendar are placed the two trapezoidal headlamps with a very aggressive design that penetrate the calendar itself. Below it, the imposing bumper is dominated by the large air inlet on which sides open two smaller slots that house the daytime running lights and two other smaller enclosures, under which they also find the two circular fog lamps. The bonnet is characterized by two longitudinal ribs more or less at the height of the headlights themselves.
The 2017 Citroën C4 Aircross side is very massive, with a very high beltline and inclined forward, which gives a bit of extra touch to the car, the large wheel arches embrace the 18- inch wheels and are framed by black plastic wheel arches, joined together by a longitudinal element, also made of rough plastic, but embellished with a chrome bar. A lateral rib joins the two door handles, while the design of the third side window is very particular, which goes together with the rear window.
Rationality and ergonomics were the two dominant factors in the design of the 2017 C4 Aircross passenger compartment, actually far less bold than the car body lines. Instrumentation and secondary controls are generally intuitive in their disposition and accessibility. The cockpit is illuminated by the panoramic glass roof, which is also dimmable by the electric drive of a retractable curtain. The capacity of the luggage compartment reaches 442 liters in standard configuration, but can be expanded thanks to the fully foldable rear seat or even fractional (2/3 – 1/3). The multimedia system features a 710-watt hi-fi system and a 7-inch display, 30 GB hard disk drive, and CD and DVD player functions.
2017 Citroën C4 Aircross Engine
The 1.6-liter diesel engine with 84 kW is the result of the 1.6-liter (117-hp) diesel engine and the stronger 1.8-liter 110-kW (150-hp) diesel engine from Mitsubishi (114 hp) from PSA Peugeot Citroën itself. On the Ottomotor the power is transferred only to the front wheels via a five-speed manual gearbox. In the case of the diesel engines, the option of the shiftable all-wheel drive is the option. A six-speed manual gearbox is installed as standard for 2017 Citroën C4 Aircross model.
2017 Citroën C4 Aircross Safety
The first generation C4 Picasso tested by the European New Car Assessment Program (NCA) was an LHD model from 2006. It received an overall five-star rating due to the design and scope of standard safety features, including the front airbags for driver and passenger, a driver’s knee airbag, side airbags, and bicycle bags.
The vehicle was penalized in the accident tests for the risk of leg injury caused by the dashboard and for chest injuries to the driver in a side impact. In the front impact test, the child restraint put in the rear seat and hit the head of the dumb head on the driver’s seat and lost all head protection points for the dumb head.
